Blended Learning Research Internship
Toronto – 8 Months (to start..)
Parlay is a Canadian educational technology company that helps middle school and high school teachers facilitate meaningful, measurable and inclusive class discussions. We’re on a mission to inspire the next generation of critical thinkers and thoughtful communicators. We’re a growing team that’s building and selling more than just great software. Our tools support a research-backed methodology that is pushing the boundaries of what education must become in the 21st Century and how we can use technology to get there. Here’s what some of our early customers have said:
“This is the best educational technology tool I have seen in over 5 years.”
Steve Rush – Director of IT – St. Andrew’s College
“ I tried the live discussion with one of my classes. It was magical.”
Sophia Berezowsky – French Teacher – Upper Canada College
“I just ran two discussions with my class. One live and one online and they loved it! I’ve now shared it with staff.”
Adeel Farooq – Tech Integrator – Rosseau Lake College
Our newest initiative (and the impetus for this job posting!) is to create a library of engaging & higher order discussion questions that link high school curriculum content to the events and ideas shaping our world. After we create the library, we will have teachers in the Parlay community try these discussion topics in their classrooms. Finally, we need to measure the impact of this content strategies in the classroom. We need help with the whole thing: content creation, defining and measuring outcomes, and writing final reports. The internship will be with the OCE TalentEdge program, and we are looking for a current or recent Masters in Education graduate.
- Refine our framework for creating great Parlay Discussion Topics.
- Content Creation: working with content partners, thought leaders, Parlay teachers, and OERs.
- Develop methodology to measure efficacy / impact in the classroom.
- Plan and execute implementation of these research efforts inside the classroom.
- Complete final report – document findings, make recommendations for next iterations etc.
How to Apply:
