2019 Year In Review – 2020 The Year of Classroom Discussions
2020, the year of classroom discussions.
We have had a monumental year, and it’s all because of our amazing and wonderful educators who have been championing us over this last year and since 2016. We couldn’t do it without you, which is why this year, instead of focusing on our accomplishments and things that have happened to us, this year we’d like to shift the focus to YOU, our wonderful and hardworking teachers.
So here are some stats on how you and your fellow educators have been using Parlay for classroom discussions over the past year.
Our favourite stats are the participation averages. They tell us not only that classroom discussions are happening, but that there is ample involvement from most of the students in the discussion.
Before wrapping up we’d like to quickly send out some much-needed thank you’s. At the end of 2019, and the beginning of 2020, we were kindly featured in some amazing articles which highlighted Parlay as a tool to try in 2020.
Since those articles came out, we have seen an amazing outpouring of shout-outs and interest from teachers all around the world looking to re-invigorate their classrooms with inclusive, student-led classroom discussions. So thank you to everyone who included us in their articles, we appreciate the love.
Big thank you’s are in order!
To finish off, we’d like to reshare a message we sent out over the Christmas break. We’re sharing it again because this really has been a monumental year, and it’s because of all of you.
This has been one of our best years yet. We’ve seen our community grow, worked with amazing leaders in education, and have received an outpouring of love and warm wishes from all around the world. In 2019, teachers in the Parlay community facilitated over 2435 RoundTable discussions.
We’ve been lucky enough to get a peek into your classrooms where we’ve seen inspired discussion topics and conversations that your students are having with one another during classroom discussions, and it’s been a privilege to help or be some small part in that learning magic.
So thank you, for every like, share, shoutout, picture, and bits of feedback. We do it all for you and your students. Good wishes for 2020, and here’s to lots of great classroom discussions that spark creativity, student sharing, community building, and amazing insights.
